The food walk will be started with the Kulcha of ‘Kulwant Kulchian Wala, although, there are many places for ‘Kulcha’ in the city such as ‘kulcha land, ‘Ashoki Kulchian Wala and many more, in the walk we will taste the Kulcha from Kulwant. Kulwant Singh was a man from the city who got a shop near the Golden Temple and started to make Kulchas, many Amritsaries prefer to have Kulcha from Kulwant. Now there are two shops in Kulwant
After Kulcha we proceed toward Katra Ahluwalia to taste Jalabies from Gurdass Ram Jalibian Wala, Gurdass Ram had started this Shop before the partition, now his third generation is making ‘Jalabies’ ‘ Pinnies’ and serving to the people, Jalbaies are made in Desi Ghee( Purified Butter) and are socked in sweet syrup made of sugar.
We walk to ‘Narayan Poorian Wala, His shop is situated in the chowk of ‘Baba Bohar’ at the end of the Utensil market. Poori and Chholey is a favorite dish for breakfast for Amritsaries. ’Guru da Halwa’ is not to be missed followed by Poori and Chholey from here. On the way to this shop, we visit ‘Sangal Wala Akhara, Chitta Akhara, and Darshani doors. these are very Important historical points of Amritsar heritage
We move to Telephone exchange on the way we see Thakur Dwara Dariana mull, a building which was built in the 18th century, nice architecture can be seen, then we move to Telephone exchange via Chorasti Attari chowk and Guru Bazaar to have more varieties of Amritsari street Food, here we can taste Last, Chaamp, and Cheese Bhurji and Gulaab Jamun
From Telephone exchange we walk to Kesar da Dhaba to have lunch at the famous and oldest Dhaba in the town, Daal Makhni, Malai Kofta, Partha is very delicious of Kesar, and Here is the end of the walk.
